Civil Rights

At Stempien Law, we believe that government entities must be held to the standards of the United States Constitution. The Constitution is the supreme law of the land. If we fail to hold the government responsible for violations of this most important document, then we fail to live up to Abraham Lincoln’s famous words that our is a “government of the people, by the people, for the people”.

Police misconduct can occur when an officer uses excessive force or wrongfully arrests and imprisons someone. Under section 1983 of the Civil Rights Act, the victim of the police misconduct is entitled to compensation for the violation of their civil rights act. At Stempien Law, we have extensive experience representing individuals whose civil rights have been violated.

If you are the victim of police misconduct, please contact us at (248)569-9270 or (734)673-0567.
